Starting OO-BOON-TOO: 基础 - 安装外设

Install Nvidia GeForce4 MX video card driver on Ubuntu 8.10
Download driver from

or a Video4Linux device. It can apply a number of image filters and make
remote captures.

Synaptic > camorama

Install Printer
Install Canon PIXMA iP1600 printer on Ubuntu 7.10

  1. Install iP1600 driver for linux:
    1. Main Menu > System > Administration > Software Sources
    2. Software Sources > Third Party Software > Add... > Add one APT line.

    3. deb http://mambo.kuhp.kyoto-u.ac.jp/~takushi/debian ./

    4. Close the "Software Sources" dialog and reload the information about available software.
    5. Download and install the "libcupsys2-gnutls10_1.2.2-0ubuntu0.6.06.4_all.deb" package from http://packages.ubuntu.com/dapper/libs/libcupsys2-gnutls10, it's required for the iP1600 drivers.
    6. Then open the "Synaptic Package Manager" to install driver packages for iP1600.
    7. Main Menu > System > Administration > Synaptic Package Manager
    8. Synaptic Package Manager > Check the "libcnbj-2.6", "bjfilter-2.6" and "pstocanonbj" packages and install them(iP1600 use the iP2200 driver).
  2. Configure printer in Ubuntu:
    1. Main Menu > System > Administration > Printing
    2. Power on your iP1600 printer and plug in the USB port of your Linux box.
    3. Delete the printer iP1600 which Ubuntu installed automatically.
    4. Click the "New Printer" button on the tool bar.
    5. Select "Canon iP1600 USB #X", then "Forward".
    6. Check the "Select Printer from Database" and select the Canon subsection. "Forward".
    7. Select "iP2200 Ver.X.XX" in the "Models" list then "Forward".
    8. "Apply"
  3. Click "Print Test Page" button on the iP1600 "Settings" panel to test printer installation.
